TSX-listed precious metals and copper explorer Golden Minerals has closed a private placement equity financing with a privately held firm based in Vancouver called Streamline Metals, which now owns 19.9% of the issued and outstanding common shares of Golden Minerals.

The transaction totalled $856 463 from the sale of 3.7-million common shares of Golden Minerals at a price of $0.229 apiece.

Golden Minerals will use the net proceeds of the offering to advance joint venture processes related to the Sand Canyon gold/silver/copper project, in Nevada, and the Sarita and Desierto gold/silver/copper concessions, in Argentina, as well as to evaluate new project opportunities in Bolivia.

Notably, Streamline Minerals is backed by experienced mining executive and investor Nolan Watson, who founded Sandstorm Gold.
